About Alessia Sersanti

Alessia Sersanti is an abstract and figurative painter born and raised in Rome, Italy. She began painting under the guidance of her mother, a working artist in Rome during the 1970s, and grew up immersed in the visual and architectural richness of her surroundings.

She studied Art History in Rome and later trained in Renaissance painting techniques in Florence by a local artist in Florence, where she developed a deep respect for the Old Masters — and a lasting fascination with the expressive freedom of abstraction.

Her work moves between abstract landscapes and botanicals, merging emotional atmosphere with physical presence. Influenced by her Italian heritage and the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, her paintings explore memory, perception, and the subtle forces that shape our inner world.

Working primarily in oils and acrylics, Sersanti builds layered compositions that balance structure and intuition. Light and shadow, color and restraint, texture and stillness — each element is considered, yet allowed to unfold organically.

Her botanical works are studies in contrast and emotional presence. Emerging often from dark, contemplative backgrounds, the flowers carry both softness and strength — intimate yet monumental.

Before committing fully to painting, Sersanti founded a luxury handbag line manufactured in Italy and launched her own brand in 2017, an experience that sharpened her understanding of craftsmanship, material, and design.

Now based in Kirkland, Washington, she works from her studio creating original paintings for private collectors in Europe and North America, and is preparing for her North American gallery debut.
